Suffolk Concert Band end 2014 on song!

The Bury St Edmunds Concert Band (BSECB) rounded off 2014 with another successful fundraising concert on behalf of SebertWoodSchool and Christ Church Moreton Hall.

The event, which saw the church packed to the rafters raised £700 taking the total amount raised by the band for a variety of local causes and organisations to almost £10,000 over the course of 2014.

BSECB’s Director of Music Rob Head commented: “It was a fine way to end the year and topped off a wonderful twelve months of fundraising concerts around Suffolk by the band. A number of different organisations have benefited including the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds.

“The concert at Moreton also featured the Sebert Singers, a choir that was only formed in September. They hit the high notes superbly with their renditions of “What a Wonderful Life” and “Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious”,” added Rob.

The Bury St Edmunds Concert Band, which features over 40 musicians of all ages, was founded in 1991 and regularly plays at major music venues across Suffolk and East Anglia.
