Alarm Goes Off At Korks!

There’s another double dose of live music at Korks Wine Bar in Otley this weekend with former Alarm frontman Mike Peters taking to the stage on Friday 25th followed by old favourites Steve Phillips and Brendan Croker on Saturday 26th.

The Alarm was formed in 1981 in North Wales as a mod band and finally split a decade later after a opening for acts such as U2 and Bob Dylan.

They played their final gig together at Brixton Academy in 1991 with Peters declaring: "We've shared some great moments in time over the last ten years and tonight I would like to thank all the people who have supported me from the beginning to the end. Tonight, this is my last moment with the Alarm, I'm going out in a blaze of glory - my hands are held up high."

Peters went on to front Big Country and In 2001 he hit the road again as part of "Dead Men Walking" which featured Pete Wylie (of The Mighty Wah!), Glen Matlock (former Sex Pistols), Captain Sensible (The Damned), and Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny). The band played a mixture of old and new material spanning their combined careers.

Steve Phillips and Brendan Croker have performed at Korks on many occasions to a loyal following. Both Brendan and Steve have a long and distinguished musical background and performed with Mark Knopfler in the Notting Hill Billies over a number of years.

Tickets for the Peters gig cost £10 (£12 door) with a £7 entry charge for Brendan and Steve’s gig. Contact Korks on 01943 462020 for more details or to book tickets.
